Lampasas is a wonderful town with lots of stuff to do and plenty of places to just relax.  We tend to move at a slower pace than the big cities, and I am very thankful for that.

In Bend, Tx just a short drive thru the country you will find the Colorado River.  There is also the Colorado Bend State Park.  You can access the river with a boat from thier ramp.   There are several other fishing camps in the area.
